Sometimes, we go through what's called a purging phase when we first start using this cleansing method, in which our skin is trying to adjust and and expel old plugs and blemishes. This potent mask is designed to help draw out impurities and detoxify your skin. Always, always, always follow this mask with a replenishing, moisturizing oil applied on top of damp, hydrated skin. We want impurities out, and hydration in.
Mix the ingredients together and apply to parts of or your entire face, avoiding eyes and mouth. Leave on for 10 minutes or until dry. Gently wipe and rinse away. Since this has charcoal in it, please don't use a nice, new white washcloth. Follow up with your favorite moisturizing oil.
For those who would rather not use a rose mask, the traditional way to mix this clay is with equal parts clay and apple cider vinegar. This produces a foamy, fizzy mask (very cool!) that is just as effective, if not moreso, than the mask above.
